These sessions will focus on unlocking the magic and treasures of Shakespeare's verse. We will explore how we can harness its power and 'surf' the text, enabling us to speak it in a way that makes more sense, makes us more present on stage, and sound more human. The sessions will be active and fun, with lots of play. We will progress from working generally to focusing on specific scenes, and the aim is to make the learning cumulative over the course of the four classes. For writers, we'll be exploring the form and structure of the language and how it can help and feed into the rhythm and flow of the actor's performance; and for directors, the sessions will give insight into how to unlock classical texts for actors.
