Neutral and Basic Character Mask

Using both neutral and character masks and exercises derived from the Jacques Lecoq school this non-verbal session explores body language and the significance of gesture, action and the power of ‘doing nothing’.  It emphasizes how actors can use their body to communicate a narrative and convey deep emotion without relying on verbal and facial expression.  The session also allows the actor to explore the whole body as an acting tool and for directors to appreciate the value of the actor in the empty space. In this practical session participants will get the chance to work both individually and within a group.
